Lewis Watson Gig, Colchester, 21.06.2013

Lewis Watson Gig!
Last night (21.06.2013), I attended a gig in Colchester. It was a really great night, despite having to stand for three and a half hours and feeling very achy afterwards!
It was a Lewis Watson gig. I really love Lewis Watson, and I saw a gig of his in December supported by The Lake Poets and I'm also lucky enough to see him again at V Festival this year. The support acts last night were Shannon Saunders and Frank Hamilton, who I knew both beforehand, and they were both great.
I made it a must-do to attend a lot more gigs, concerts and festivals this year and it seems like I'm doing a pretty good job so far. Last night was my first gig of many this year, so I'm pretty excited to see how the others live up to last night!

A few snaps of Lewis Watson performing. I would have taken more photos, but I actually took quite a lot of videos instead to make a compilation for my YouTube channel.
Frank Hamilton and I! I apologise for looking so dreadful, but it was a killer in that heat last night! Heck, if it stays like this for the summer instead of deciding to get warm in the winter, then I'm going to be very happy.
Shannon Saunders and I.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Lewis Watson as he had to leave, but I did get to meet him in December! You should check out all of the acts above. Frank Hamilton was lovely and signed my CD; you can follow him on Twitter @frank_hamilton. Shannon Saunders' Twitter is @saundersshannon and Lewis Watson's Twitter is @levvis_.

May 2013 Haul! (Small)

Hi everyone!
So, as I've recently had my birthday, I've had quite a bit of cash to splash out on some things while I've been shopping. May has been a very hectic month filled with school work, so I actually haven't had the chance to go out and properly look around. I went out today though, just one day before June! Perfect time, eh? So the haul isn't filled with much and it's only really cheap things that I've picked up for a bargain in Primark, but I'm still very happy with my ever-growning (packed) wardrobe. I'm also heading out to Camden on Sunday, so I guess I'll be starting on my June haul...
I won't be showing you everything I brought - like underwear for example. Who wants to see that? Or my new school shoes and the cork board I brought for my homework to be pinned up. Although, I got this new weekly whiteboard planner for my revision timetable and it's been working a charm!
Anyway, on with the haul!
Now, I've been wanting a denim dungaree playsuit for quite a while. I'm heading out to so many festivals this year, and I think this will be a real bonus to my wardrobe. I found this in Primark and I got it a couple of sizes bigger than I usually would because I wanted the shorts to be quite baggy - it looks quite nice! It's a nice acid wash, so it makes me feel a little bit 90's! It was £12, which is a lot cheaper than places such as Topshop, although I'm a massive fan of Topshop.

While I was at it, I thought I might as well pick up some long dungarees too. I know I'll get my wear out of these because I can either roll them up with some flip flops in the summer or I can shove some boots and an overshirt with them in the colder weather. Faboo! These were £17 from Primark. I loved the ripped knees too! Very grungey... I think I'll pair it with a flannel shirt round the waist.
When I was in HMV with my brother, I spotted this movie - it's new, but I've definitely mentioned wanting to see it before! Gangster Squad starring Emma Stone and the oh-so-lovely Ryan Gosling. I'm looking forward to watching this. I've heard it's good. I hope it's along the similar lines of gangster tales such as Scarface and The Godfather. It was £12.99.
I've also been needing some new flip flops, so I picked up these. They're super cute! Not what I'd usually buy, but they were only a fiver from Primark. I'm loving yellow this season, so they were perfect. And aren't the bumblebees cute? Adorable! There were also a bubblegum pink pair with flamingos on them, so I might just have to go and purchase those too.
I also needed to pick up some new belts, and found a couple of great ones in the sale. Firstly, there was this one. A studded cross chunky belt. This was £1.

And then this one: Also along the cross theme, but thinner and the crosses are jewelled. This was also £1. Is that a bargain or what?

Then, while prowling the sale area, I found this long necklace. It's made up of lots of little peace signs, and I love peace signs! It was once again just a £1. So £3 and I managed to pick up two belts and a necklace. Wow! These were all from Primark too.
Talking about the 90's, I also found this awesome chunky gold plate necklace. I love that it's really thick, unlike some chains, so I was very happy to find this. It was £6. I don't usually wear short necklaces because I find them uncomfortable, but I think this would go with a lot of things I have in my wardrobe.
Lastly, I brought my first bikini of the year! Yeah, I was pretty excited. The weather is warming up so much, so hopefully this will be put to use as I'm not going on holiday this year. It's a really cute bubblegum pink with white polka dots a halter neck strap. My mum thought it looked very 50's, and I agree! It's really sweet. The bottoms are just classic briefs. This was £8 from Primark. I'm loving high waisted bikini bottoms at the moment, so I might have to pick some up.

Well, this is it from my personal May haul, rather than just my birthday gains! I hope you liked it. I've managed to rake in a lot of clothes and nice bits and bobs this year, and I'm hoping that June will be the month when all my summer gear is settled down for July and August. Until next time! Thank you.

Birthday Haul! (27.05.98)

Hi there!
I feel like I haven't blogged in a long time, so now is the perfect time for me to make a blog! I turned fifteen yesterday. Not really a very exciting year, except I can now get into 15 movies legally, so I'll be taking advantage of that. 'The Purge' and 'The Hangover III' have been booked!
Anyway, I thought I'd do a birthday haul as I received so many lovely gifts from everyone this year! It felt like a really thoughtful year for gifts. I'm not trying to show off what I got or brag in anyway, these were just things brought for me by lots of various family and friends, and I suppose it's like my May Haul.

The first thing I got from my parents was this new lipstick from Topshop. I'm a massive fan of Topshop lipsticks, and this is the most gorgeous colour. It's called 'Pillow Talk'. I've been looking for a nice baby pink to suit my complexion for quite a while, and this has been really perfect. These lipsticks cost £8, but are worth it.

I also sport a very large shoe collection. My parents added these new additions from Topshop. They're boater flatforms. The only type of flatforms I own are just the average Brothel Creepers, so I was really excited to get a pair other than those. The patent is a bit of a buggar when it comes down to getting scratches, but they're really nice shoes and can be dressed up as well as down.

I was also actually surprised to receive some books from my parents (and that lovely movie on the end). I love reading but I haven't read a physical copy of a book for a long time ever since I've had my Kindle. I got 'The Philosophy Book' which I was pleased about. I also have the Psychology version from Urban Outfitters, and I'm very interested in these things, so it added to my collection. 'Knifer' from an account my Ronnie Thompson, two books based off of interviews with serial killers, past and present, by Christopher Berry-Dee and 'My Mad Fat Diary' by Rae Earl. My mum brought me the serial killer books as she thought they'd be beneficial with my history coursework as my main focus is crime and policing. I'm really looking forward to them! And 'My Mad Fat Diary' is such a great show on E4, so I know the book's going to be just as funny. Also here is the movie 'Sinister'. I'm a massive fan of horror movies, and this movie was the only actual specific thing I asked for from my parents. I watched it last night and it was really brilliant. My mum also pre-ordered the horror 'Mama' for me, so I'm psyched for that.

My best friend brought me this smellies set. The box it came in was so vintage and cute! I just had to use it after. Inside there was a bath sponge, Marshmallow scented bubble bath and Wild Cherry body butter. It smells absolutely lovely! I love smellies! It's very cute too.

My mum's friend brought me this nail polish set. Usually, I'm not a massive fan of nail polish probably as I barely wear it because of school rules. These were really sweet of her though and I love the colours. My favourite is the teal, which I've already used as it's the school holidays.
Now onto my favourite things: the clothes! My mum chose out this pencil skirt from Topshop. How cool is this?! I think it's really cute and quirky, which I love, and it looks nice on. I went out for a meal yesterday night with lots of family and it was quite flattering to my figure and it made my legs look a lot longer too. I'm looking forward to wearing it lots over the summer!
Sorry that this one's a little creased! I was wearing it today. This is a denim button-up from Topman. I love Topman shirts as I love anything oversized, and men's departments are usually the best place for these. I like this shirt as the top button isn't too high and strangling like some button-ups I have, so it's really comfortable to wear.

I apologise for the photo being sideways, but some will be. And also for these being so creased! Anyway, these are my new 'disco pants'. My mum and I were a bit unsure about these as they're very hard to wear seeing as they're so tight, but I was actually quite happy with the way they looked! They're very slippery though!

This next thing is another men's shirt. It's a vest top from BOY. The neck's very high, but I prefer men's vests to women's. The back on this vest is lower than the front and this is great, because it means I can wear it with leggings without looking like too much of a plum.
I believe this next vest top is from Punkyfish. My mum knows how much I love Audrey Hepburn, and she managed to find this! Although it doesn't seem it, it's primarily a vest top, so she brought the biggest size so I could wear it as a normal vest. I love it! It's so cool and quirky and fun!

This next gift was the most expensive things my parents brought me. My Timberland boots! I've wanted boots like these for a long time so I was so chuffed when I got these! I know it's summer, but it's still so cold, and these boots will be great with skirts, shorts, you name it!

My dad hates buying presents as it's more of a 'girl' thing. He's better at buying presents for my brother. But this year, he picked out this 'dope' hat for me. I love beanies and bobble hats, especially loose and baggy ones. This one fits the bill perfectly. Maybe I could even wear it matching my new vest top, right?
These circular sunglasses from Topshop were probably my favourite from my parents, aside from the boots. I've been banging on and on about getting some circular sunglasses for a long time! I'm attending a lot of festivals this summer, so they're the perfect festival accessory for me. I'm excited to wear them! If we get any sun...
As I mentioned before that I loved cute and quirky things, I also got this. This is from New Look. I'm a big fan of Marvel, X-Men, Avengers - anything to do with superheroes! The writing on the skirt kind of reminded me of all the comic books I have, so it was really exciting. It's such a nice skirt!
I also got two plain t-shirts from Topshop. This blue one and a white one too. The t-shirts from there are great because they're so light and the material is really soft. I also love the rolled up sleeves, and it's a bonus as they're permanently pinned there.

My friends also got me some really great goodies this year!
These mint frilly socks from Topshop were cute! I really love wearing frilly socks tucked over the top of my Doctor Marten's or trainers, so it was very sweet of them to get these for me.
My friend Charlotte brought me these bracelets. I think they're from Topshop. They're really sweet and I love all the little charms on them! Very me! She also brought me two DVD's: 'Backdraft' and 'Reality Kills'. Backdraft is an 80's thriller movie, and I love the 80's, so I know why she got me that. Reality Kills stars Winona Ryder, Ben Stiller and Ethan Hawke, and from what I can see, looks very good!

Shelby also brought me a couple of bracelets. My friend Hannah got me a £15 Topshop gift card, which I was really happy with. As you might have guessed, I really love Topshop. My friend Leanne brought me the movie 'Cabin in the Woods'. Another horror I've been dying to see! And my friend Fran got me the movie 'The Devil Inside'. They all hate horrors, and I absolutely love them. Fran also drew me a great picture of Logan Lerman and Lady Gaga, two of my favourite people.

Various family members and friends gave me money and it was so lovely for all of these people to give me things! So far, I've been good with it, but I don't know how long it will last. Anyway, this was my birthday haul! I hope I haven't bored you. I love seeing what other people got for their birthdays, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I love birthdays!
Please follow or like or whatever you do on here:) Thanks for reading!

Poland and Rocky Horror 2013!

Hi again!
So, I got back from my four day trip in Krakow, Poland a few days ago. It was pretty amazing. We saw many historical sites, such as Auschwitz, but it was also a very beautiful place. Very photogenic and full of perfect scenery, which I thought I'd share with you today.
Our hotel was really fabulous, and we were situated only five minutes away from the town which meant we could walk around and see this. I even had a view of the two clock towers from my hotel room. It was so lovely to wake up to in the morning, especially as the weather was so good and everything was light!
L-R: Charlotte, Shelby, me. My room mates for the week:) We loved our hotel space and we had a lot of fun together. People often came in and out of each other's rooms so it was a lot of fun. I've really brushed up on my poker skills since being in Poland.

Shopping was a lot of fun too. We went to the shopping centre on both nights of our full days, and we also shopped around the town and the market on both days. We were so close to everything! Shopping isn't really much of a different experience to it is at home, but it was just a lot more exciting with my friends.

To be honest, I think this photo really captures the essence of poker night, doesn't it? Yeah, not really.
Some friends of mine:) I took a lot of beautiful photos of the scenery, but I didn't want to bore any of you too much! I decided not to upload any photos of the concentration camps, in case it affects anyone, but it was a really unforgettable experience for me.

The night after I got back, I also broke my Rocky Horror virginity. I'd never been to the live show before, even though I've wanted to so, so much and I love the movie, but I finally got to! The live show was brilliant. Really fantastic. Transvestites? Just up my street. It really was an experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Here was my costume...
(Ooo, sassy). I loved everyone's Rocky Horror costumes! It was just so much fun! A really good laugh. I loved my costume too. Pretty fetching, eh? I looked like I could have been apart of Rose Tints My World. I went with my friend Shelby and our mum's and we all had a lot of fun.
Pretty cute, right? We're thinking a Rocky Horror theme for our joint 16th...

Mentioning birthdays: I turn 15 in just under 4 weeks! Pretty cool. I'm going up to Camden for my birthday, so I'm pretty excited about all of the shopping experiences there such as the market and charity shops.
I've just got back to school after four weeks off for work experience and Poland. It's not been very fun... This weekend I'm jam-packed again. We have bank holiday Monday, so I'm attending our local fair both Saturday and Sunday night with my friends. They're also staying at mine this weekend to hopefully film some vlogs for my YouTube channel which will be fun. I can't wait for the fair - it's always great fun. I also have the go ahead to get Bastille concert tickets for the winter tour in October/November. I'm really excited about that as Bastille are my favourite band.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my blogpost:) Cheers my dears!

2012 Re-Cap!

Hi!

Once again, this blog post should have probably been done a lot earlier as we're already coming up full speed to May, but I guess better late than never, right? So here's a little re-cap of my 2012. 2013 is already looking up to being a great year, so I hope it can top last year!

I got the chance to go on an amazing weekend trip to London with my school early on in 2012. We got to visit Shakespeare's Globe and watch one of the performances as well as go on a tour around the globe.
We visited the Modern Tate art museum and also the Film History museum and then went on to see the west-end performance of Matilda in the evening. The next day we got to visit the Studio Tour of Harry Potter. I took lots and lots of photos! I'm a massive fan of Harry Potter, so it was a lot of fun to be there.
I also got to go to Chessington World of Adventures with my friends. It was my second time going to the park, but I loved it the first time. Despite the weather being horrendous throughout the day, it was a great laugh! We spent a lot of time in the shelter of the Bubbleworks Factory, as well as going around multiple times to try and get the perfect Grace Face in our photo.
Another school trip involved us visiting Ypres in Belgium. It was so interesting! I love history and it was so great to learn about the things. We got to walk through the trenches and visit Menin Gate and various cemeteries for the soldiers and I was with a lot of friends, so it was fun. Belgium also makes great chocolate!

I also got to attend V Festival for the first time. This was my first ever festival, so I was super excited and there were a lot of acts playing that I was looking forward to. From going to the festival, my music taste actually widened a bit later on and I now like more different artists that I never really considered before. Plus, the weather was beautiful! Perfect for a festival.

I think my favourite act was Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. It was later in the evening and everyone was just so chilled and relaxed and it had such a great vibe that really lived up to festival expectations.
Two days after V Festival, I got to head on up to Tenerife with my family and some family friends for 10 days before going back to school! I love the sunshine and I love going on holiday. This holiday was actually a lot of fun despite having some hotel problems. It was a great way to spend time with my little brother as well.

Who doesn't love a great sunset photo and some good looking guys? It was my little brother's 12th birthday when we were out there, and the staff at the restaurant were so lovely! They brought him a cake and had everyone sing happy birthday as he blew out the candles. I took lots of photos of that! It was lovely.
When I got back from Tenerife, I got to see Lady Gaga in concert. It was my second time seeing her. First for the Monster Ball tour, and this was the BTW tour. I love Lady Gaga, and it was a great birthday present!
Isn't she wonderful?

Then, once back at school, I continued my travelling adventures to Normandy in France for a week! We did lots of activities including fencing, archery, bread making, assault courses in the mud (I got stuck in), rock climbing and more! It was great fun. As you can see, my great friends are doing the bunny ears behind my head. Haha, so funny... so very funny.

St. Mont Michael was a beautiful building. And come on; why wouldn't you be excited to see llamas?

I really had such a great 2012. It was full of lots of travelling adventures and I'm looking forward to more coming up soon! I'm going to V Festival again this year as well as Summer in the City. Also, on Tuesday, I'm heading over to Poland for four days for a history trip where I'll be involved in things such as visiting concentration camps there. I'm sorry for the extended blog, but I had to re-cap my great year! Maybe you could give my blog a follow:) It'd be lovely. Thanks!
